The Snake Love foundation provides the reptile hobby an opportunity to give back in West Africa, where Ball Pythons and many other pet reptiles originate.
All charitable projects are personally researched by the foundation directors. The board members freely give of their own personal money to run the foundation, including all administrative fees. No board members take a salary and 100% of all donations go directly to the projects in Africa.
100% Efficiency for West Africa Support
A Hand-up not a Hand-out
We are dedicated to providing opportunities for people in West Africa to better their lives, instead of creating a culture of reliance on outside charity.
Our current effort is in supporting an orphanage in Freetown, Sierra Leone, providing essential needs for 36 orphans, including schooling so they can get a strong start on life and better their community. We also provide higher education scholarships with a commitment for students to 'pay-it-forward' in Sierra Leone.
The Snake Love Promise
Sierra Leone Orphanage Support
Fresh Water
New on-site well (2023) saved the children long daily walks to find fresh water.
Safe Housing
The Snake Love foundation funds rent for the current home in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and continues to invest in home improvements.
Food Security
The Snake Love foundation ensures food security for the 36 orphans that otherwise would go hungry.
Education Investments
Supporting education through books and uniforms, the Snake Love foundation ensures all children at the orphanage can attend school.
Enrichment Opportunities
We provide funding for supplies for the children to create fun crafts and learn to make beautiful hand-made traditional African jewelry during their free time, which they can sell to help support themselves.
Vocational Training
We ensure even the older children start life on solid footing. They receive scholarships from the foundation to cover books and living expenses, so they can focus on their future careers and eventually 'pay-it-forward' to the next generation.
Stabile Home Environment

2025 Project Goal
The Snake Love Foundation currently supports the most basic needs for the children in the Freetown orphanage, but needs your help to improve their quality of life!
The children in the Freetown orphanage cannot currently afford electricity. Those that have electricity in Freetown find it very unreliable, dealing with constant blackouts on a daily bais.
Without funding for electricity, fuel, or candles, the children lack lighting to read, study, or do homework in the evenings. Additionally, they have no access to computers to learn from the rest of the world.
The Snake Love Foundation has set a goal to raise $5k to fund solar power at the orphanage, including solar panels, batteries, and even a computer with a digital copy of Wikipedia that works offline.
Help us bring electricity to the Orphanage!
Additional Needs
Running water
The current house has no running water, andso teh kitchen sink goes unused.
Home Schooling Resources
Several children are too young or otherwise unable to go to school. The orphanage has established an education space, but needs supplies, books, perhaps even a computer.
The children sleep two children per MATTRESS in these small rooms packed with bunkbeds. Prayers and letters and knowing they have people that love them are very important.
