Our mission
Our mission is to empower communities in West Africa by supporting orphanages and investing in education. We believe in creating self-sustaining projects that enable recipients to ‘pay it forward,’ fostering a cycle of growth and opportunity.
Our vision
We envision a world where everyone’s basic needs are met, enabling all individuals to thrive and reach their full potential.
Get to know us
The Snake Love Foundation was founded by the Gray family, owners of Gray Family Snakes in Huntsville, AL. During a United Methodist Church (UMC) mission and herping trip to West Africa in 2023, the family fell in love with the culture of Sierra Leone and recognized the urgent need to support the over 300,000 orphans, many of whom live on the streets of Freetown.
Moved by their experience, the Gray family committed their personal resources to aid the children of Sierra Leone, starting with an orphanage that was identified by local residents of Freetown as needing significant assistance.
As word spread within the reptile hobby community about the need and the connection to the Ball Python region of West Africa, offers of help and support grew. In June 2024, the Snake Love Foundation was officially established as a 501(c)(3) charity in the United States, creating an opportunity for reptile enthusiasts and others to ‘give back’ to the region. Our EIN is 99-357012.
